DUBLIN--Dublin police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a gas station Wednesday night after threatening to burn it down, according to a department spokesman.

Police received a call at 11:45 p.m. about a robbery in progress at the Shell gas station, located at 5933 Dougherty Rd., according to Lt. Herb Walters.

A young man armed with a baseball bat and a red plastic gas can entered the gas station and ordered the clerk to put all the money in bag, threatening to burn the business down if the employee didn't comply with his demand, according to Walters.

The suspect then got into a red four-door vehicle, similar to a Nissan Altima, and fled with an unknown amount of money.
