The visiting Wolverines (5-0) held off a Bulldogs rally when Nsimba Webster scored on a fake field goal attempt in the last minute of the game. Vacaville (2-3) had narrowed the score to 38-34 before the clinching touchdown.

Deer Valley took a 14-0 lead early and held a 17-14 halftime advantage. The Wolverines increased the lead to 38-28 by the end of the third quarter.

Webster threw for two touchdowns and ran for two in the victory. Teammate Malik Hutchings recovered two fumbles defensively.

"It was a hard-hitting game. It was fun to coach and a good one to win," Deer Valley coach Rich Woods said.
