PLEASANT HILL -- College Park High's wrestlers will get some serious competition next weekend at the North Coast Section championships. The Falcons got the bare minimum of a challenge at the Diablo Valley Athletic League tournament on Wednesday.

The host Falcons sent 11 wrestlers into the finals and walked away with 10 individual titles. Their two returning NCS placewinners, 106-pounder Kailey Kelley and 160-pounder Marc Wilhelm, both won on second-round pins. Kelley pinned Kyle Tran of Clayton Valley Charter, and Wilhelm stuck the Eagles' Jake Lynch.

Also scoring falls in the finals for College Park were Nate Prado (120), Gabe Lomas (126) and Matthew Zachary (220). Danny Croft (132), Romelo Monjares (152), Daniel Prast (170), Cole Stockdale (182) and Will Faraghan (285) also won titles for College Park.

Clayton Valley sent six to the finals, with five head-to-head matchups against the Falcons. The Eagles' lone head-to-head victory came at 112, when Mustafa Sheridil pinned Gavin Hughes in the second round.

Michael Nocerino won the Eagles' other individual title, beating Northgate's Angel Leave-Mazey 11-2 at 145.

Northgate sent five to the finals, with Floyd Armente (195) and Evan Carter (138) winning. Carter defeated Peter Herschelman, Berean Christian's only finalist, 9-5, while Armente stopped Mt. Diablo's Rudy Perez 5-0.
