City plans community Cleanup Day

The Rio Vista Recreation Commission is planning a community Cleanup Day for Sept. 29. The day to beautify and cleanup the city will focus on the riverfront and park areas to prepare the city for the 65th Annual Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival on Oct. 12-14.

The commission is in the process of recruiting volunteers from various local service organizations and Rio Vista High School.

Recreation Commission takes meetings outside

The Rio Vista Recreation Commission will be holding a second meeting at a local park due to the positive attendance at its last meeting at a park. The upcoming Aug. 27 meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Bruning Park, which is also known as City Park, 300 Montezuma St.
