Honey Boo Boo, the Georgia-based child beauty contestant who made her starring debut on the TLC reality series "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" on Wednesday night, is a force of nature. But according to many viewers, that isn't necessarily a good thing.

Honey Boo Boo (real name: Alana Thompson) made her TV debut on TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras" and now the 6-year-old stars in her own six-episode series.

In the series, Honey Boo Boo, along with her mother, June; father, Sugar Bear; and her sisters "Pumpkin," "Chubbs" and "Chickadee" let it all hang out as they flaunt their (extremely) rural lifestyle. Hanging out in mud pits and picking up road kill for dinner? Yes, please!

It seems that such exploits can be televised without at least some reaction. Here are the strongest, most notable or most amusing reactions to Honey Boo Boo's debut.

Comic book and animation writer Paul Dini ("Batman: The Animated Series") wrote: "It's fitting 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' is on The Learning Channel. Now we know what Hutts look like in their larval stage."

Country singer Miranda Lambert seemed to identify more with the family's exploits, writing: "And TLC wins again with another show I am hooked on:) " a dolla makes me holla honey boo boo"!

Lambert's fellow country singer Blake Shelton seemed to have a different take on the show when he wrote: "Just watched "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo"...

And now here comes runny doo doo..."

Comedian and writer Meghan O'Keefe wrote: "If you're ever wondering why that brilliant show was canceled, it's because people were watching Honey Boo Boo Child instead. Support PBS."

And comedian Patton Oswalt sent out the bewildered tweet: "Don't know why something called          HoneyBooBoo is trending. Going to assume a spy is signaling he needs extraction."
