LAFAYETTE -- A 51-year-old Pittsburg man was found dead in the water at the Lafayette Reservoir on Wednesday evening, said a spokesman from the East Bay Regional Park District police.
It appears the man, identified as Ricardo Ojeda, drowned. Foul play is not suspected, said Lt. Jon King.
King said the man went to the reservoir Wednesday morning to walk his dog and do some fishing. When he didn't return home by 5:30 p.m., family members called authorities who searched the park and reservoir and found his body in the water, police said.
The Contra Costa County coroner's office said the cause of death appears to be drowning. The case remains under investigation.
