FINE TUNES: The Brentwood Concert Band hosts the Stuart Music Fund Benefit concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St.

Under the direction of Carey Hurst and Susan Stuart, the fifth annual event features students Robbie Henderson and Sam Sanchez -- the grant recipients of the Stuart fund. Also on the bill are the Brentwood Flute Choir and the Liberty High Band.

The fund was established after Bruce Stuart, founder of the BCB, passed away in 2008. When Susan Stuart retired after 35 years as choral director at Liberty High, she established two annual scholarships to "deserving" Liberty district musicians, according to a news release.

The concert is free but donations are appreciated.
