BRENTWOOD -- The Brentwood Concert Band hosts the Stuart Music Fund Benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St.

Under the direction of Carey Hurst and Susan Stuart, the fifth annual event features students Robbie Henderson and Sam Sanchez, grant recipients of the Stuart fund. Also performing are the Brentwood Flute Choir and the Liberty High Band.

The fund was established after Bruce Stuart, founder of the BCB, died in 2008. When wife Susan Stuart retired after 35 years as choral director at Liberty High, she established two annual scholarships to "deserving" Liberty district musicians.

The concert is free but donations are appreciated.
