Missing girl returned after weekend search: A 16-year-old girl, junior at Liberty Union High School, was in the juvenile hall at Martinez this week after she had been the object of a three-day search by Brentwood police and sheriff's deputies. When she failed to return from school Thursday evening, the authorities were notified by her parents Friday morning. It was learned that she had withdrawn money she had in a bank account. Later, an acquaintance told the parents a story of where she had been. A check of the story showed discrepancies, but it was learned that she had been in Antioch, where she bought some clothing, spent the night in Pittsburg and was reported to have gone as far as Modesto. Finally, she was located in Hanford, and was returned to the county sheriff's deputies and placed in the juvenile hall and later released in custody of her mother.
