ANTIOCH -- Work with the Chamber of Commerce. Revitalize Rivertown. Tweet more.
Those are some of the future strategies for economic development the Antioch City Council will discuss during a special meeting Thursday night.
The meeting will be held 6 p.m. at the Antioch Water Park, 4701 Lone Tree Way.
According to a city staff report, there are a variety of short- and long-term ideas outlined in the city's economic strategic plan; including improving the city's image through the use of news releases, Facebook and Twitter, working with the chamber on business programs, promoting a "Shop Antioch" campaign and improving code enforcement.
The council will also discuss sales tax and business license tax ideas for a possible November ballot measure and examine the results of last month's community forum on public safety and the next steps.
