ANTIOCH -- Motorists headed through this city on Highway 4 in the wee hours of the morning early next week should give themselves a few extra minutes for the drive.
All eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 4 will be closed from Lone Tree Way to Contra Loma Boulevard overnight Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as the contractor working to widening the road will be removing the temporary supports for the G Street bridge, according to a Caltrans news release.
Westbound will be closed from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., while eastbound is from midnight to 4 a.m.
Westbound motorists will be detoured off the highway at the Lone Tree Way/A Street exit and up 18th Street to L Street. Eastbound drivers will be directed off at Contra Loma and up Fitzuren Road and Putnam Street to Lone Tree.
