PITTSBURG -- Drivers trying to enter and exit Highway 4 at Loveridge Road may want to find another route this weekend.

Contractors for the project to widen the freeway from four to eight lanes will be constructing westbound on- and off-ramps at Loveridge, according to a Caltrans news release.

The westbound onramp to Highway 4 will be closed 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday morning. The westbound off-ramp will be closed 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. overnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists from Loveridge will be directed west on California Avenue and to the entrance at Railroad Avenue. Drivers from eastbound California Avenue will be directed right on Loveridge, down Leland Road, and onto Railroad.

Highway 4 drivers are advised to exit at Railroad and Somersville. Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time.
