No farewell for cultural icon

Dear Editor:

I certainly did not give the CinéArt's Dome theater a "fond" farewell as I watched it being demolished. Actually, I am livid over what they did to that cultural icon! It served an important purpose in our community.

When I lived in Pleasant Hill, my friends and I would take in a film at least once a week. After I moved to Brentwood, I would frequent that theater more often and bring more friends. It was the perfect venue with superb acoustics.

There is no way that I will ever set foot in Dick's Sporting Goods -- nor do I plan to shop in any venue run by SyWest. And, I hope the people of Pleasant Hill take a good look at the three stooges on the city council who voted for this atrocity when election time comes around.
