Max Geislinger, son of Paul and Julita Geislinger of Antioch, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which was presented at a Court of Honor ceremony at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Antioch on April 6.

Max, 17, is a junior at Deer Valley High School in Antioch and a member of Boy Scout Troop 247 under the leadership of Scoutmaster Ravi Shankeran.

For his Eagle Scout community service project, Max built six trellises for vine plants and designed and built three wheelchair accessible mobile planting beds that will allow people with disabilities to participate in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Higgins Funeral Chapel Joint Community Garden.

During his Scouting career, Max completed National Youth Leadership Training, a program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience. He also participated in an Eagle Board of Review on Jan. 24, 2013.

Additionally, Max has been involved in Deer Valley varsity track and cross county and has obtained a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
