ANTIOCH -- The Antioch Children s Theatre presents the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz at the Virginia J. Calisesi Studio Theatre, 512 W. Second St.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Additional performances are 7 p.m. May 24, 2 and 7 p.m. May 25 and 2 p.m. May 26.

'Last of the Red Hot Lovers set in Antioch
ANTIOCH -- The Vagabond Players presents "Last of the Red Hot Lovers at El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.
Barney Cashman, a middle-aged, married nebbish restaurateur, a gentle soul with no experience in adultery or the sexual revolution, has decided he wants to have an affair. He selects his mother s uptown apartment for the rendezvous because his mother will be out doing volunteer work two hours every week. The play takes one comedic turn after another as Barney continues to be unsuccessful in his choice of partners.

International film series to show 'The Silence
ANTIOCH -- The International Film Showcase presents "The Silence 7:30 p.m. May 24 and 2 p.m. May 26, El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.
"The Silence begins 23 years ago on a hot summer day, when a young girl named Pia is brutally murdered in a field of wheat by Peer, as his helpless friend Timo watches. Now, in the present day, on the exact same date, 13-year-old Sinikka is missing, her bicycle abandoned in the same spot, leading police to suspect the same killer may be at work again.
The German film has English subtitles.
The film is part of a collaborative effort with the International Film Showcase, which has a successful foreign film series in Orinda.

Delta Quilters show set for May 18-19
BRENTWOOD -- The Delta Quilters "A Splash of Fabric and Art show is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St.
More than 200 quilt and wearable art entries, as well as home accessories, will be on display at the vendor mall. Demonstrations will be held throughout the show, and refreshments and lunch available for purchase. Admission is $7 for one day and $10 for two days (under 8 and over 80 free).

Umpqua Bank hosts art exhibit
ANTIOCH -- Umpqua Bank in Antioch will host a Discover Art League exhibit with the first event showcasing the works of abstract artist Sandra Berkson.
The exhibit will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through the month of May. The bank plans to host a new exhibit every two months, featuring two or more artists. A reception will be held at the bank 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, 3700 Lone Tree Way. Refreshments will be served.

Stage Right hosts auditions for musical
ANTIOCH -- Stage Right Conservatory Theatre will hold auditions for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on May 20 and 21 at the Nick Rodriguez Community Center, 213 F St.
Directed by Bryan Anthony, this Tony Award-nominated musical is based on the "Coat of Many Colors story with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Brentwood hosts public art walls
BRENTWOOD -- The city of Brentwood hosts a Brentwood Public Art Walls exhibit highlighting local artists and organizations.
The exhibit features works by Brian Carlton, oils; Joyce Marlene Carroll-Oetgen, pen, ink, mixed medium; Beverly C. Turner, mixed-media ceramics; and Heritage High School Visual Art students. Art4Schools exhibit set at Lynn House Gallery
ANTIOCH -- The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch hosts the ninth annual Art4Schools exhibits at the Lynn House Gallery.
The Art4Schools exhibits features Antioch Unified School District classrooms involved in the Arts4Schools Program, sponsored by the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch, Union Pacific Foundation, the city of Antioch and a Calpine funded through the office of Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover.
The the final exhibits include art from Turner and Diablo schools displayed through May 25.
The gallery is open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., during exhibits. There is no admission fee for the reception or exhibit.
