ANTIOCH -- Take two.

The demolition of the old Highway 4 overpass that crosses over Contra Loma Boulevard was recently postponed and is now scheduled for later this week.

All lanes of Contra Loma/L will be closed crossing under the highway from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight each day through Thursday to ensure crew and public safety during the work to remove the inactive portion of the structure, according to a Caltrans news release.

Northbound traffic will be detoured down Fitzuren Road and G Street, and left on 18th Street to L. Southbound drivers will be detoured onto Highway 4 to the Somersville Road/Auto Center Drive exit and Buchanan Road to Contra Loma.

Cavallo Road will also be closed where it crosses under Highway 4 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight Monday and Tuesday.

Additionally, one lane of Somersville Road/Auto Center Drive in both directions will be closed from Delta Fair to Century boulevards from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Other Highway 4 lane closures include a single eastbound lane between Contra Loma/L and Lone Tree Way/A Street from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. overnight Monday through Friday. A lane in the opposite direction will be closed 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. overnight Friday.
