On April 6, Pittsburg Elks Lodge No. 1474 held a ceremony marking the 90th year of their installation of officers.

Newly elected Exalted Ruler is Robert "Bob" Beck. He and his wife Sheena, are longtime members of Pittsburg pioneer families.

During his acceptance remarks, Beck stressed service to community, youth, veterans and membership as well as stating his motto "Elks Working to Make Dreams Come True."

Beck received a bachelor of science degree at Cal State Chico and a master's degree in administrative leadership from Saint Mary's College in Moraga.

He now serves as the principal of adult education in the Pittsburg Unified School District

Following a champagne toast was a steak and salmon dinner, as well as dancing to the music of the Larry Martinez band.
