ANTIOCH -- Antioch High recently held its annual end-of-the-year visual and performing arts events.
Spearheaded by teacher Kevin Kennedy, the day-long event included art, music, dance, singing and more. Additionally, student works -- such as ceramic pieces -- were for sale, along with treats to eat.
Principal Louie Rocha said he enjoys this event, especially the sidewalk chalk art. "I'm always impressed with the quality of art our students are able to produce in front of our guests."
In addition to AHS students, Fremont and Marsh elementary bring students to enjoy the showcase of work.
"This year we had 500 elementary students who participated in the field trip to VAPA," Rocha said. "I always enjoy the joy on the students' faces of all ages.
"This was our biggest VAPA. (It) is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent of the students (and) strong sense of community is what makes AHS a wonderful place to be a part of ... and makes me proud to be principal."
