BRENTWOOD -- Neighbors near a proposed Balfour Road and Griffith Lane high-density residential project have filed an appeal against the project due its concerns over additional noise, traffic and the density of the planned 160 lots on 42 acres.

A special public hearing for the Ferro-Ronconi project will be held at 7 p.m. June 21. A public hearing that was planned for the June 11 Brentwood City Council meeting was continued so the developer and neighbors could meet and discuss the concerns of residents.

The developer has requested that some of the project's amenities be removed to make the project economically feasible. Area neighbors are arguing that these conditions are in place to ensure the safety and quality of life of the neighborhood and they are demanding a new sound wall and improvements to McClarren Park, which is the city's second oldest park and has been vandalized.
