ANTIOCH -- A man was grazed in the arm and ear by bullets as he walked on an Antioch street Monday evening, police said.

The man was walking on the sidewalk on Gentrytown Drive south of Buchanan Road around 8 p.m. when he was approached by another man, who said nothing, pulled out a handgun and started firing, police said.

The victim covered his face with his arms and was possibly struck by the same round on his arm and ear, said Antioch police Lt. Pat Welch. The victim, who was conscious and walking, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Welch said.

The shooter ran south on Gentrytown toward Lopez Drive, police said. The victim was not able to provide police with a detailed description of the shooter.
