ANTIOCH -- Highway 4 drivers experienced a brief slowdown this afternoon as Caltrans workers on an existing project did some emergency pothole repairs.
Three California Highway Patrol officers conducted a "rolling block" to slow down westbound traffic on the freeway near the Highway 160 interchange around 2:30 p.m., said Jonathan Adams, a spokesman for the Highway 4 widening project.
Highway 4 is being expanded from four to eight lanes through Antioch.
The work in the second lane from the right took about 10 minutes, Adams said. The slowdown caused traffic to back up toward Brentwood.
