Deer Valley ends banner season with loss

The historic 2013 season for quarterback Nsimba Webster, right, and the Deer Valley High football team came to an end Nov. 29 with a 57-27 loss to Sumner Houston, left, and De La Salle in the North Coast Section Division I semifinals. The Wolverines finished with an 11-2 record, tied for the most wins in the program's history, and also made it to the Division I semifinals for the first time. For the season, Webster, the Bay Valley Athletic League's MVP, finished with 2,015 rushing yards and 1,520 passing yards, and combined for 50 touchdowns -- passing and receiving.
