Supervisor Joe Silva and J.F. Carmichael plans the development on Gateway Road near the Frank's Tract Boat Harbor and is estimated that the project will be a $500,00 investment.

Antioch's City Council will consider a resolution aimed at pleasing developers who are being asked to join a $148 million Mello-Roos tax district that will build new schools and create a 100-acre community park in southeast Antioch.

The resolution outlines some ways the city can reduce the inconvenience to developers caused by the Mello-Roose district.

Developers are most likely to pass their share of the tax onto homebuyers. However, they also want the city to promise no future fees will be levied on their properties to pay for the community park.

Also the developers want the city to write up agreements promising that no moratoriums limiting building will ever be placed in the southeast area. Those agreements are still being negoiated and will be presented in completion at the Jan. 24 council meeting.

However, the Council Tuesday is being asked to approve the concept of such agreements.
