Nicholas Michael Wedl, the son of Mike and Martha Wedl, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which was presented in Court of Honor ceremonies March 22, at the Antioch Church on the Rock.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 159, under the leadership of Scoutmaster John Warnock.
For his Eagle Scout community service project, Wedl designed and constructed a patio and shade structure for the staff at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch. In addition, he also included a pathway and privacy screen.
Some of the materials used in Wedl's project were donated, while other materials were purchased with money raised from a recycling project.
During his Scouting career, Wedl paddled 50 miles through the Canadian wilderness at the Northern Tier High Adventure Base, attended the 2010 National Scout Jamboree, and hiked for 60 miles at the Philmont Scout Ranch. As a Brotherhood member of the Order of Arrow, he held the position of Apanuc Chief, among other accomplishments. Wedl earned 43 merit badges and completed National Youth Leadership Training.
Wedl, 18, is a senior at Deer Valley High School, and a resident of Antioch.
