BETHEL ISLAND -- Seniors and their caregivers are invited to attend a seminar this weekend on how con artists defraud their victims.
The free presentation will be 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Scout Hall, 3090 Ranch Lane, Bethel Island.
State Assemblyman Jim Frazier, D-Oakley, arranged this service of the California Contractors State License Board, which has been holding these Senior Scam Stopper seminars for the past 15 years.
Presenters will discuss the various ways in which crooks prey on seniors, not only through home repair projects but foreign lotteries, investments, the mail, and by stealing their identity.
For more information or to RSVP, call Frazier's office at 707-399-3011.
