World Music and Art Fair set for Saturday

PITTSBURG -- The STS Arts Education Program, in partnership with the Pittsburg Unified School District After School Program, will host the sixth annual Pittsburg World and Art Fair 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Small World Park, 2573 Harbor St. The event will feature performances by East Bay Karate Do, Wilson's Dance Studio, Pittsburg High School Show Band and PHS Flag Twirlers.

There will also be performances by the Pittsburg Unified School District After School students. Enjoy the music, dance, history and crafts of Mexico, Hawaii, Brazil, Barbados and more.

The event is sponsored by the city of Pittsburg and Supervisor Federal Glover.

Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children ages 5 and older, and free for children younger than 5 with a paying adult.

Film series presents 'Like Father, Like Son'

ANTIOCH -- The International Film Showcase presents "Like Father, Like Son" at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. May 25 at the El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.

Ryota Nonomiya is a successful businessman driven by money. When he learns that his biological son was switched with another child after birth, he must make a life-changing decision and choose his true son or the boy he raised as his own.

The film is part of a collaborative effort with the International Film Showcase, which has a successful foreign film series in Orinda.

'Mamma Mia!' singalong set Thursday

PITTSBURG -- A "Mamma Mia!" singalong is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the California Theatre, 351 Railroad Ave.

The singalong will feature the songs of ABBA, the chart-topping Swedish pop, dance group of the '70s, including "Money, Money, Money," "Fernando," "Dancing Queen" and others.

Pittsburg Pops set for Saturday

PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg Pops presents "For the Love of Classical" featuring classical piano and classical guitar featuring the works Carille Bruno-Thayer, Jim Coniglio, Grace Edwards, Good Shepherd Choir, Ronald A. Llenado and Leandra Ramm.

ACFA hosts exhibit at Umpqua Bank

ANTIOCH -- The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch hosts an exhibit at Umpqua Bank, 3700 Lone Tree Way.

The fifth exhibit for the ongoing display continues through May 30, featuring students from Antioch High School. There will be approximately 25 to 35 pieces, including some pottery and other 3D pieces of art. Art4Schools exhibit set at Lynn House Gallery

ANTIOCH -- The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch will host the 10th annual Art4Schools exhibits through May 24 at the Lynn House Gallery.

The exhibits showcase Antioch Unified School District classes involved in the Art4Schools program, sponsored by the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch, the city of Antioch and a Keller Canyon Grant funded through the office of Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover.

The Lynn House Galley will play host to Orchard Park K-8 through May 24.

The gallery at 809 W. First St. in Antioch is open 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays, during exhibits. There is no admission fee, and the exhibits are free.
