Richard Martinez of Pittsburg recently graduated from Graceland University in Iowa with a bachelor of arts degree.

Graceland University, founded in 1895, creates learning communities where students develop their potential for meaningful lives and offers over 50 academic majors and programs.

Ferguson

Katelin Nicole Ferguson of Oakley, a graduate of Freedom High School, will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., as a member of the Class of 2018.

Ferguson, who will be majoring in science studies, will begin studying at Clarkson in the fall.

Clarkson offers rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences.

Sellers

The American Legion Auxiliary, Harding-Noia Unit 161 of Antioch, is pleased to announce that Savannah Sellers, a 2013 Dozier-Libbey High School graduate and a 2012 Girls State Citizen, will return as a Girl's State counselor while on summer break from Brigham Young University.

At Girls State, the delegates will form a city, county and state running for a variety of offices on each level. Sellers will be helping guide the delegates, giving them encouragement as they form opinions on current political issues and see the importance they will play in the future of our nation.

Among the many delegates Sellers will be counseling are Sammi Surges, Antioch High School; Mary Taylor Smith, Deer Valley High School; and Rachel Backlund, Dozier-Libbey High School.
