DISCOVERY BAY

Emergency water conservation methods

Effective Friday, Discovery Bay residents will be subject to emergency water conservation measures based on the state's orders.

The Town of Discovery Bay's Community Service District is requiring all residents to not water their lawns or landscaping more than twice weekly. Watering non-irrigated areas, private or public walkways, roadways and parking lots is also prohibited.

The new restrictions do not allow for directly watering any hard surface for washing or using a hose to wash a vehicle, boat or RV unless it has a shut-off nozzle or using potable water for a fountain unless re-circulated water is used.

These water consevation measures are being required of all California residents and fines of up to $500 per day are part of the state-mandated order. Discovery Bay residents who fail to comply will receive a notice and then may be fined after that. Visit the town's website at www.todb.ca.gov.
