The following excerpts are from the Brentwood police logs July 28-31.

MONDAY, JULY 28

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Police received a report at 8:39 a.m. that a vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of a home on Tradition Way.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 10:06 a.m. that a vehicle in a car sales lot on Brentwood Boulevard had been broken into and had its alarm disabled, stereo stolen and door and dashboard damaged.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 11:19 a.m. of a residential burglary on Cloverleaf Circle. They caught up with the two suspects shortly after that, recovered the stolen property, arrested them both and took them to the Martinez jail.

  • FACEBOOK -- Police received a report at 3 p.m. about a dispute on Sawyer Court over a Facebook page.

  • AUTO THEFT -- Police received a report at 6 p.m. that a vehicle had been stolen on Pelican Street.

  • ASSAULT -- Police received a report at 6:58 p.m. of a physical fight between three people on Fairview Avenue. None of them wanted to prosecute the others.

  • ROBBERY -- Police received a report at 10:29 a.m. of a robbery on Brentwood Boulevard. The perpetrator entered the business with a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money; the victim handed over $103.

    TUESDAY, JULY 29

  • FORGERY -- Police received a report at 5:54 p.m. that two people on Balfour Road had convinced another to buy a gold-colored bar for $7,000. The victim later discovered the bar was a fake.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 7:54 p.m. of a residential burglary on Europena Drive. One or more thieves broke into the house and stole numerous items worth an estimated $5,485.

    WEDNESDAY, JULY 30

  • ATTEMPTED ROBBERY -- Police received a report at 1:22 a.m. from a business on Walnut Boulevard that three people had tried to steal alcohol. When the victim confronted them, one of the perpetrators pulled a handgun from his right pocket and aimed it at the individual. The trio then fled to a waiting vehicle with two occupants.

  • ASSAULT -- Police received a report at 8:49 a.m. of an assault on First Street, where someone hit another person. During the struggle, the aggressor brandished a knife and a wooden stick. That person was arrested and taken to the Martinez jail.

  • THEFT -- Police received a report at 11:11 a.m. that someone posing as a Comcast employee on Brentwood Boulevard obtained the victim's credit card information and tried to use it.

  • AUTO THEFT -- Police received a report at 9:23 p.m. that someone had stolen a motorcycle from the parking lot at Streets of Brentwood shopping center on Sand Creek Road.

    THURSDAY, JULY 31

  • MALICIOUS MISCHIEF -- Police received a report at 6:36 a.m. that someone on Arrowhead Street had drilled holes into another person's gas tank, causing fuel to leak out. Estimated damage is $1,500.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 10:54 p.m. that two people had entered a business on Second Street for the second time, stealing a large volume of baby formula. Estimated loss is $2,646. The two perpetrators were arrested and taken to the Martinez jail.
