ANTIOCH -- Drivers headed east on Highway 4 early in the morning later this week may want to add a few minutes to their travel time.
All eastbound lanes of the freeway will be closed from 12:01 to 4 a.m. Thursday and Friday morning and from 2 to 6 a.m. Saturday, from the Contra Loma Boulevard exit to the Lone Tree Way/A Street exit to ensure crew and public safety during this work, according to a Contra Costa Transportation Authority news release.
The closure will allow the contractor to install a drainage ditch alongside Highway 4 at Contra Loma Boulevard, officials said.
Motorists will be directed off the highway at Contra Loma and down Fitzuren Road to Putnam Street and Lone Tree and onto the on-ramp.
