ANTIOCH -- A nonprofit that delivers meals to seniors is holding an orientation to enlist the help of other agencies in spreading the word that it needs volunteers.
Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services will give the presentation 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 22 at St. Ignatius Church, 3351 Contra Loma Blvd., Antioch.
A light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
Groups that attend will learn what the organization does -- delivering about 725 meals per day to those who are homebound is just one of its services.
They also will find out how they can help Meals on Wheels by providing volunteers, publicizing it in church bulletins and community newsletters, or inviting one of its representatives to give a talk about the ways in which it makes life more enjoyable for older adults who need a little help maintaining their independence.
To register or volunteer, contact Carol Louisell at email@example.com or 925-954-8736.
