Love the "Cat in the Hat?" Have a craving for "Green Eggs and Ham"?

Then the Seussville fall carnival may be just the ticket.

Hosted by Timber Point's PTA, the event runs from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Discovery Bay elementary school, 40 Newbury Lane.

The fundraiser will feature an array of games, food, prizes, inflatable stations, a photo booth, face painting and other family-oriented activities.

The event is open to the public. Parents get free admission with the purchase of a $12 student ticket. Proceeds benefit the library and yard personnel, along with an array of activities and student supplies.

THE MAINE EVENT: Heritage High's Rising Stars is offering "Almost, Maine" at the Brentwood campus, 101 American Ave.

According to www.almostmainetheplay.com, the play is composed of eight vignettes. "In 11 short scenes, 19 characters are introduced ... each of whom we spend only a few minutes. ... What holds 'Almost, Maine' together is all the action takes place in the same small town at the same moment and each of the short scenes is about the hazards we encounter in the pursuit of love."

The award-winning theater group, led by teacher Chris Fallows, performs at 7 p.m. Sept. 12, 13, 17 and 26, and at 1 p.m. Sept. 20 and 27. Tickets are $8 for students; $12 for general admission. For more information, call 925-634-0037 or email fallowsc@luhsd.net.

SING IT LOUD: 80 Volts hosts "Wine & Music" from 7-10 p.m. Sept. 27 at Leer Vineyards, 3501 Byer Road in Byron.

The Liberty choir groups, led by director Laura Carreon, hosts the major event to raise funds for a choir competition set in Rome this summer. Tickets are $20.

Big Hit Collectives and Liberty High Educators Band will provide the entertainment. For an additional cost, guests can purchase dinner, dessert and drinks.

80 Volts is the nonprofit organization that raises funds for all of Liberty's choirs, which features more than 240 student performers.
