The East Bay Athletic League girls volleyball title race and the North Coast Section Division I bracket were supposed to be wide open this year.

But San Ramon Valley High's team did not get that memo.

A familiar face in the Division I title mix, the Wolves have won two titles and have appeared in five title games in the last six years. They are once again a favorite to reach the NCS Division I finals after tearing through the EBAL.

However, San Ramon Valley coach Brian Fujinaga knows it is a new season and the Wolves can't take anything for granted.

"We have to keep learning and keep getting better and better as a team," Fujinaga said. "There can be no looking back and we have to rise to the next challenge."

And even though they won 30 regular season games, and went undefeated in the East Bay's toughest league, there will be stiff competition with teams from their league, and teams outside it like Heritage and Berkeley.
