Friday, Sept. 14 SHOPLIFTING -- A 53-year-old Richmond man was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a store at El Cerrito Plaza. DUI -- A 31-year-old Vallejo resident detained at a traffic stop at San Pablo and Waldo avenues was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Saturday, Sept. 15 BURGLARY ARRESTS -- A resident in the 7200 block of Manila Avenue told an officer about scaring off three juveniles attempting to burglarize a neighbor's home. While El Cerrito police were investigating the incident, San Pablo police were dispatched to a similar incident with a similar suspect description and located suspects who were taken into custody. It was determined that those suspects were also in the El Cerrito. A 17-year-old Richmond male, a 16-year-old Antioch male and a 16-year-old San Pablo male were arrested. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- A 62-year-old Richmond man was arrested on suspicion of taking items from a business at 1751 Eastshore Blvd. WARRANT ARREST -- A 27-year-old Oakland woman was arrested at Hill Street and Lexington Avenue for an outstanding parole violation warrant. VEHICLE THEFT -- A 25-year-old Berkeley woman at 10841 San Pablo Ave. on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and leading officers on a brief pursuit. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE -- A 32-year-old Richmond resident was arrested during a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue and Blake Street on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and a smoking device. BURGLARY -- Burglars entered a home in the 6900 block of Blake Street through a rear sliding glass door. BURGLARY -- A burglary was reported in the 6600 block of Cutting Boulevard. Entry was via a bedroom window.
Sunday, Sept. 16 STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 1988 Honda Civic was taken from the 1500 block of Douglas Drive between 1 and 10 a.m. SHOPLIFTING -- A 41-year-old Richmond man was arrested on suspicion of stealing items from a business at 11450 San Pablo Ave. STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2000 blue Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 6200 block of Cypress Avenue during the evening.
Monday, Sept. 17 VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1999 Honda Civic was reported stolen overnight from the 7800 block of Eureka Avenue. VEHICLE LOCATED -- An officer investigating the Eureka Avenue car theft located a 1992 Honda Accord on Midcrest Court reported stolen that day. VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1995 Ford Bronco reported stolen from the 100 block of San Carlos Avenue was located by Richmond police. VEHICLE LOCATED -- An officer investigating the above stolen vehicle located another vehicle in the 100 block of San Carlos Avenue determined to be stolen from the 6100 block of Huntington Avenue and unreported. HIT AND RUN -- A bicyclist riding southbound on Carlson Boulevard at San Diego Street was struck by a newer model white Chevy Malibu while the rider was trying to merge into the lane when struck him. The victim fell and the driver fled. The victim was treated for minor injuries at a hospital. BURGLARY -- A bicycle was reported stolen between Sept. 15 and 17 from a garage in the 7200 block of Waldo Avenue. STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2012 Chrysler 200, reported stolen to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 31, was recovered at Eastshore Boulevard at Potrero Avenue. BURGLARY -- Someone stole a Samsung phone from the AT&T store at El Cerrito Plaza after cutting a security cable. LOCATED VEHICLE -- A 1999 Honda Civic reported stolen earlier in the day was located in the 400 block of Village Drive.
Tuesday, Sept. 18 VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1996 Honda Accord reported stolen between from the 5800 block of Avila Street was located at Tehama Avenue and Mariposa Street. VANDALISM -- A window was broken with an unknown object at the former Tradeway store on San Pablo Avenue. SHOPLIFTING -- Security staff at Safeway placed a male under citizen's arrest for stealing alcohol. The male was also wanted on a DUI warrant from Richmond. EMBEZZLEMENT -- A female employee at CVS Pharmacy, 10650 San Pablo Ave., was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement of merchandise during the past three months. WARRANT ARREST -- A 39-year-old El Sobrante man was arrested at San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Boulevard for a warrant from San Francisco. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY -- Someone stole cash from a home in the 100 block of Ashbury Avenue after entering through an open back door.
Wednesday, Sept. 19 COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- Someone entered the eastern fenced area of the Portola Middle School construction site and forced entry to a temporary office building, causing damage and taking computer equipment. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY -- A garbage bin was used to climb through an open kitchen window and burglarize a residence in the 200 block of Ashbury Avenue. DUI -- A 27 year-old male driver was arrested during a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane on suspicion of DUI. SHOPLIFTER -- A 30-year-old Richmond woman was detained by staff at Safeway on suspicion of theft.
Thursday, Sept. 20 BURGLARY ARREST -- An officer investigating the break-in at Portola Middle School saw a male walking away from the site with heavy-duty wire/cable cutters. The man was arrested when copper wire from the school was located next to him and "the cuts to the wire matched the cutters in his possession." The man had previously been arrested in Richmond for copper wire theft. THEFT ARREST -- A female juvenile was arrested after she was found in possession of property taken from a purse at the Community Center. MISSING JUVENILE LOCATED -- A 14-year-old girl reported missing from Stockton was located at El Cerrito Plaza by officers who arranged for her return to her mother.
