MONDAY, DEC. 17 THEFT -- Someone reportedly stole a credit card from a resident's mailbox and used it at various retail establishments in Albany and El Cerrito. WARRANT -- A Pinole man, 21, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license near Carlson Boulevard and Fairmount Avenue. And, police arrested an Oakland woman who was loitering inside Jack in the Box in the 5900 block of Cutting Boulevard. She had a warrant issued in San Francisco for reported burglary and shoplifting.
TUESDAY, DEC. 18 ASSIST -- El Cerrito police assisted the Albany Police Department, forming perimeter surveillance, during an investigation of a report that a man was wielding a gun and threatening to shoot pedestrians. Officers remained in the 1100 block of Brighton Avenue until the suspect was taken into custody. GRAND THEFT -- Tools worth an estimated $3,600 were reported stolen from the back of a Ford Escape in the 2000 block of Key Boulevard. STOLEN AUTO -- A 1999 Honda Civic was stolen from the Community Center parking lot in the 7000 block of Moeser Lane.At Kern and Zara avenues, police recovered a 1990 Honda Accord reported stolen the day prior in Richmond.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19 DUI -- An El Cerrito man, 44, was arrested for reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol near Belmont and Central avenues. FRAUD -- A woman attempted to purchase food with two five-dollar bills recognized as being counterfeit at Little Caesar's Pizza in the 11200 block of San Pablo Avenue. She also held up a $20 counterfeit bill when the cashier confronted her about the fake money. She left before police arrived. THEFT -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 49, for suspected shoplifting at Safeway in the 11400 block of San Pablo Avenue. The suspect had six prior convictions for theft.
THURSDAY, DEC. 20 DRUGS -- Two San Francisco men were arrested after they were found in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Police responded when they were seen tampering with a silver SUV in front of Little Caesar's near the 11300 block of San Pablo Avenue. One of the suspects also had an outstanding warrant for grand theft in Contra Costa County. DUI -- Three motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, including: a Berkeley man, 20, at Central Avenue and Everett Street; a Pleasant Hill woman, 22, at Central and San Pablo avenues; and a Richmond woman, 41, at Cutting Boulevard and Peerless Avenue. ROBBERY -- A man reportedly threatened a woman with a knife as she was entering her vehicle in the 400 block of Kearney Street. The suspect then demanded money. The victim complied and he fled the area.
