FRIDAY, JAN. 25

  • ADOLESCENT INFRACTION -- Police detained two male students from El Cerrito High School in the 700 block of Pomona Avenue and cited them for violating their daytime curfew and unlawful possession of cigarettes.

  • BATTERY -- Police responded to a call about teens fighting near Panda Express in El Cerrito Plaza. The group of some 40 adolescents disbanded but officers located a girl who had sustained minor injuries and she was taken to a nearby hospital. Police caught up with two other girls who were reportedly involved in the incident at the Plaza BART station.

  • BURGLARY -- Three people, including a Sacramento male motorist, 29, were arrested for possession of stolen property from a recent residential burglary in the 100 block of Ashbury Avenue after a high-risk traffic stop near Fairmount and San Pablo avenues. Police had determined that the suspect was driving a gold Chrysler van reported stolen out of Richmond. His suspected accomplices included two Oakland men, 23 and 25. The stolen property was returned to the homeowner.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A motorist driving a stolen GMC Yukon evaded arrested after speeding off during a traffic enforcement stop near Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- Property was stolen from three vehicles in a parking lot in the 10100 block of San Pablo Avenue. The stolen items were located later that day in a recycle bin on site.

    SATURDAY, JAN. 26

  • COMMERCIAL CRIME -- Police arrested an Oakland man, 55, after spotting him hiding in the bushes behind the Ross department store in El Cerrito Plaza. During their surveillance, officers watched as he repeatedly stole and hid items, including $150 worth of meat, from the Lucky supermarket. The suspect also had a $110,000 warrant for a prior theft incident and a parole violation.

  • DUI -- Police arrested three motorists for reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol, including: an El Cerrito woman, 40, at Moeser Lane and Richmond Street; a San Leandro man, 47, at Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue; and a Vallejo man, 38, at San Pablo and Waldo avenues.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A 2007 Mercedes-Benz was stolen in the 7900 block of Cutting Boulevard.

    SUNDAY, JAN. 27

  • COMMERCIAL CRIME -- The front window of a store in the 6000 block of Potrero Avenue was smashed and dog food was stolen.

  • DUI -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 75, for driving under the influence of alcohol after they responded to a noninjury collision at Central and Yosemite avenues.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- Items were reported stolen from four vehicles. Someone broke the rear window of a 2001 Honda Civic, ransacked the glove compartment and stole change in the 100 block of Carmel Avenue. A rear window was shattered and the interior was ransacked, but nothing was taken from a 2005 Toyota Camry that was in the 1300 block of Liberty Street. No property was taken after the rear window was broken on a 2006 Nissan Altima in the same vicinity. Nothing was taken from a vandalized 2006 Toyota Camry in the 1300 block of Richmond Street.
