FRIDAY, FEB. 15

  • POSSESSION -- A school resource officer at El Cerrito High School detected the smell of marijuana coming from a male student's backpack. An ensuing search turned up a black, semi-automatic BB gun. The youth was sent to the police department, then released to his parents. Later in the day, a small amount of marijuana was found in a backpack that left by another in a classroom. He was detained at the police department and released to his parents.

  • THEFT -- A juvenile was placed under citizen's arrest after he was reportedly seen trying to steal a bottle of alcohol from the CVS pharmacy at El Cerrito Plaza.

    SATURDAY, FEB. 16

  • DUI -- At 7:29 a.m., police found an American Canyon woman asleep behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer at a red light at Potrero and San Pablo avenues. Her passenger, a San Quentin woman, also was asleep. Police determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The passenger had an outstanding burglary warrant. Both were taken to the Martinez Detention Facility. At 5:06 a.m., police arrested a "heavily intoxicated" El Cerrito man after he crashed into three parked vehicles near Blake Street and Lexington Avenue. A woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:12 a.m. near Madison and San Pablo avenues.

  • HIT & RUN -- At 9:37 a.m., a man in a blue 1990s model Honda Civic reportedly drove across the front walk of a house in the 2300 block of Arlington Boulevard, crashed into a brick wall and broke a water spigot. He then sped off.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- At 9:21 p.m., police arrested an Oakland man for being in possession of a stolen vehicle near Carlson Boulevard and Central Avenue.

  • WEAPON -- At 1:47 p.m., an El Cerrito man was arrested for possession of two baggies of suspected marijuana and a concealed 12-inch knife after police had contacted him and two companions walking in the 1200 block of Rivera Street.

    SUNDAY, FEB. 17

  • ARMED ROBBERY -- At 10:25 p.m., police responded to a call regarding two men armed with guns who had entered Computer Time near the 11300 block of San Pablo Avenue. The suspects had ordered everyone in the store to get on the ground and put their personal belongings down. They stole the victims wallets and money and fled.

  • CANNABIS -- At 1 p.m., undercover officers saw two men smoking marijuana in Baxter Creek Park. Police contacted the Richmond pair and found they were in possession of marijuana.

    MONDAY, FEB. 18

  • BATTERY -- A man was arrested after an El Cerrito Plaza security guard reported that they had a verbal argument that turned physical when the suspect tried to hit the victim and then threw rocks, striking him in the leg. Police located and arrested the suspect near San Diego Street and San Pablo Avenue.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A 1995 Honda Accord was stolen in the 200 block of Behrens Street. The owner of an auto body shop reported the theft of a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV that was in the Marshall's lot near his shop, in the 10800 block of San Pablo Avenue, awaiting servicing.

    TUESDAY, FEB. 19

  • BURGLARY -- In separate incidents, police arrested two Oakland residents for stealing items from local supermarkets. One reportedly stole and consumed alcohol at the El Cerrito Plaza. A second arrest was made in the parking lot of Safeway, where someone was seen stealing merchandise. Meanwhile, a San Francisco resident reportedly stole many bottles of baby formula from the Safeway and then was in a foot chase with arriving officers, discarding the items as he ran. He was arrested and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A Daly City man, 29, was arrested for reported possession of a stolen Honda Accord and suspected burglary tools at Del Norte Plaza.

    WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20

  • DUI -- Police arrested a Foster City man, 41, for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol after he tried to drive on the sidewalk in the 10400 block of San Pablo Avenue.

  • EVADING AN OFFICER -- A Richmond man, 19, with an outstanding warrant, fled a traffic enforcement stop at Cutting Boulevard and South 50th Street. Officers were unsuccessful in apprehending him during a foot chase, but his passenger, also from Richmond, age 28, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A 1998 Acura Integra was stolen in the 5200 block of Cypress Avenue. A 1994 Honda Accord was stolen in the 2500 block of Tulare Avenue.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- A laptop and two jewelry boxes were stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Tamalpais Avenue. The front door was kicked in and personal property was stolen from a home in the 6900 block of Wilson Way.

    THURSDAY, FEB. 21

  • DUI -- Police arrested a Richmond woman, 27, for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at Madison and San Pablo avenues.

  • SUSPICIOUS CHECKS -- An El Sobrante resident was arrested and released pending further investigation after being found in possession of another person's checks at Cutting Boulevard and Peerless Avenue.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Someone removed a section of windowpane to enter a home in the 2600 block of Brooks Avenue and stole an undisclosed amount of personal property.
