OAKLAND -- The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host a couple of candidate forums this week starting Tuesday with candidates vying for City Attorney at the Waterfront Hotel in Jack London Square.
Barbara Parker, Oakland's current City Attorney, and Jane Brunner, Oakland City Councilmember, are the two lone candidates in this race.
On Wednesday, Nyeisha DeWitt, Lynette Gibson-McElhaney, Alex Miller-Cole, Derrick Muhammad, Sean Sullivan, and Larry Lionel Young, Jr. will face off in the race for City Council District 3 (West Oakland, Downtown) at Z Café, 2735 Broadway.
The programs, co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters, start at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6). They are free and open to the public.
