San Jose's Alum Rock Park will be closed Tuesday due to high fire danger.
No public activities or access will be allowed within the park, according to the city.
Alum Rock is one of San Jose's oldest municipal parks. Located in the east hills, the park encompasses 740 acres, including 13 miles of trails, a visitor center, picnic area, playground and tot lot. It is a popular spot for hiking, running, bicycling and picnicking.
Temperatures in the park reached 94, with 15 percent relative humidity at 2 p.m. Monday, according to the park staff, who determine whether to close the park based on daily weather readings, and the availability of Cal Fire and fire department staff and equipment.
The public can call 408-259-5477 for the latest information about the park.
