GIANTS' OFFSEASON PRIORITIES

Top three San Francisco Giants offseason priorities

1. Re-sign Angel Pagan: The Giants have five starting position players locked into place, but none of them profiles as a leadoff hitter. Pagan will be a popular target at the winter meetings.

2. Bring back Marco Scutaro: For general manager Brian Sabean, Pagan and Scutaro are priorities 1 and 1A, and not necessarily in that order. The lineup took off when Scutaro, a second baseman dubbed "Blockbuster" by teammates, was acquired at the trade deadline.

3. Find some depth: Last season's championship club was bolstered by surprise contributions from the likes of Gregor Blanco, Joaquin Arias and George Kontos, all quietly acquired before the season. With little wiggle room in their budget and several backup spots to address, the Giants again will look for more under-the-radar bargains.
