MIAMI -- The Giants' flight to Miami made an unscheduled stop in Las Vegas on Thursday because pitching coach Dave Righetti was feeling ill. Righetti was taken to a Las Vegas hospital, but a team spokesman said he was feeling fine on Friday.

Righetti started feeling ill shortly after the flight left San Francisco on Thursday morning. Only about a half-dozen players were on the plane, along with investors. Luckily, team doctor Kenneth Akizuki was on the flight and was able to accompany Righetti to the hospital.

Righetti is not expected to be with the Giants for this weekend's series against the Marlins.
