HERCULES — Households can take part in a community cleanup day from 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at the city Corporation/Public Works Yard, 1000 Sycamore Ave. Each household in town showing proof of residency can bring one vehicle load of household trash to be dumped. No vehicles larger than a pickup truck will be allowed.

Toxic materials and household chemicals, large appliances, medical waste and items such as tires and lawn mowers will not be accepted.

The event is free, but residents are being asked to bring two items to donate to local food banks from the following list: canned fruit and vegetables, canned meats and fish, peanut butter, pasta, beans, rice, canned soup (low-salt), low-sugar cereal and oatmeal, tomato sauce and powdered milk.
