The fast-paced offense of the McClymonds High football team was too much for Oakland Tech on Friday, as the Warriors advanced to the Oakland Section championship game with a 48-6 win.

McClymonds will look for its fourth straight Silver Bowl crown as it takes on Oakland next Friday at Laney College.

Emoni Fountain threw for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns and added another 54 yards and two scores on the ground as the Warriors outgained the Bulldogs 361-181.

After turning the ball over on downs, McClymonds (9-2) scored on its next four possessions to take a huge first half lead. Fountain scored on a 64-yard keeper before Marcel Jackson sprinted to the end zone from 10 yards out. Janiero Rodriguez caught a 3-yard scoring pass from Fountain before Jackson broke loose on a 31-yard scamper for a 31-0 Warriors half way into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs (4-7) scored their lone touchdown with 52 seconds left in the half when James Lewis hit Kenyon Jackson in the corner of the end zone for a 19-yard score. Kenyon Jackson finished with three receptions for 84 yards.

Deshawn Nelson hauled in six balls for 82 yards with a touchdown and Mike Walker had a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown on the last play of the game for the Warriors.

Oakland 24, Skyline 6: Kesomi Mafi ran for 87 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Wildcats (4-7) in this Oakland Section playoff win at Skyline High. Mafi also threw for 128 yards as the Wildcats qualified for their Silver Bowl appearance in 19 years.

The Wildcats started strong on their opening possession as a 45-yard Steven Booker punt return brought the ball to the Skyline 19-yard line. From there, three Tratez Custard runs, the last for 6 yards, produced the game's first touchdown with 7:44 remaining in the first quarter.

Later in the period, sophomore kicker Jose Rivas booted a 35-yard field for a 10-0 lead that lasted into the second half.

Skyline (3-8) finally got on the scoreboard when Armand Shyne broke a 41-yard run with 6:48 left in the third quarter.

But the Wildcats were not going to let the game slip away. Mafi opened a 17-6 lead with a 3-yard touchdown run on the final play of the third quarter. The senior completed the scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run with 6:48 left in the contest.

Oakland will make its first Silver Bowl appearance since a 14-6 loss to Skyline in 1994. Oakland last won a Silver Bowl in 1993 when it beat Skyline, 27-14.
