The Trojans celebrated homecoming by dominating the Lancers, earning their third
consecutive Hayward Area Athletic League win after a 0-5 start. Castro Valley (3-5, 3-2 HAAL) featured a solid ground game, their offensive line carving out huge holes for tailback Damion Rosby, who had 27 rushes for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
The Trojans scored first on a 43-yard field goal by Nick Goulart and pushed it to 10-0 on a 44-yard dash by the quick Rosby.
Tennyson (4-4, 2-3) answered with a nine-yard run by Tomas Jimenez to make it 10-7 after one period.
Jesse Sellers broke off a 51-yard touchdown run, and after a recovering a Lancer
fumble on the very next play, the Trojans scored on an 18-yard pass from Cristian Chavez to Moner Afschar. The score remained 24-7 until three minutes left in the game, when Rosby burst over center untouched for an 85-yard touchdown run.
