POSITION: Running back
THE STAT LINE: Hernandez rushed for 221 yards on 21 carries and scored three touchdowns, including the first two times he touched the ball, in the Pride's 40-21 Tri-County Athletic League Rock Division victory over Pinole Valley. His touchdown runs were 15, 57 and 11 yards.
POSITION: Running back
THE STAT LINE: Rudolph was the workhorse in the Gaels' 29-21 victory over Miramonte in their Diablo Foothill Athletic League opener. He carried the ball 48 times for 341 yards and three touchdowns.
SCHOOL: San Leandro
THE STAT LINE: Chew shot a two-under 28 on the Marina course at Monarch Bay Golf Club for medalist honors in her team's West Alameda County Conference tri-match with Castro Valley and Alameda. She had three birdies and one bogey in her round.
SCHOOL: Deer Valley
THE STAT LINE: Coover's strong senior season continued with a first-place finish at the Lone Tree Invitational. She followed up her tournament score of 1-over par 73 by earning medalist honors in a Bay Valley Athletic League match against Pittsburg with a 3-over 38 at Delta View Golf Course.
KENDRICK PAYNE, Skyline, football, Sr. -- Payne contributed touchdowns in three ways in the Titans' 40-36 come-from-behind nonleague victory over Ygnacio Valley. He had two rushing touchdowns, including the game-winner with 59 seconds left, passed for a 25-yard score and had a 57-yard TD reception. He had 164 total yards in rushing, passing and receiving.
BRETT STEPHENS, Campolindo, football, Sr. -- Stephens scored the game-winning touchdown on a quarterback sneak as time expired in the Cougars' 40-39 DFAL win over Acalanes. He also completed 17 of 25 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns.
NI'YESHA BROWN, Newark Memorial, volleyball, Jr. -- Brown slammed 24 kills and also had 29 digs and two blocks in a 25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 25-21 Mission Valley Athletic League victory over James Logan. The outside hitter also had nine kills and 14 digs in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-16 league win over American.
SABRINA CLAYTON, California, volleyball, Sr. -- The 6-foot-1 Clayton led the Grizzlies to EBAL wins over San Ramon Valley and Monte Vista, amassing 45 kills, 18 digs and four aces combined in the two matches.
