Led by a solid ground game and a sturdy defense, Tennyson spoiled homecoming for Alameda (2-4, 0-1 West Alameda County Conference-Shoreline Division).
The Lancers (5-1, 1-0) relied on the talents of Joshua Handy and Quinzell Moore for the win in the Shoreline League opener. Moore ran for 91 yards on 14 carries, including a 36-yard touchdown. Handy racked up 85 yards on 17 carries, including a 20-yard scoring run.
Tennyson got on the board first in this defensive struggle, when Handy picked up a fumbled Alameda pitch and ran a short distance to the end zone.
