The Patriots forced four turnovers and held the host Lions to just 85 yards of total offense in the first half, as they went on to earn their second straight BVAL win and remain unbeaten in the local rivalry, moving to 6-0 all-time in the Brentwood Bowl.

In the first half, Heritage senior quarterback Anthony Carter completed 10 of 14 passes for 139 yards -- including a 43-yard touchdown pass to Travon Covington-Zeno to give his team a 14-0 lead midway though the second quarter. Julian Johnson added another touchdown late in the second quarter as Heritage took a 21-0 into intermission.

Mason Sargent got the Patriots (2-6, 2-1 BVAL) on the board in the first quarter, scoring on a 9-yard run to give Heritage a 7-0 lead over the Lions (2-6, 0-3) with 3:11 left.

Despite having lost its first six games of the year, Heritage can now qualify for the North Coast Section Division I playoffs by winning one of its final two regular season games -- both of which are at home. The Patriots host Pittsburg next Friday and Deer Valley on Nov. 2.
