The Trojans' defense was flawless, and their offense was able to overcome some mistakes for a win over the Jets.
The Trojans running game provided most of the offense, running for 364 yards.
Patrick Cheek got Castro Valley on the board with a 68-yard run in the first quarter. Encinal closed the gap early in the second quarter. CJ Souza blocked a Trojans punt and Austin Ve'e ran it in for a 45-yard touchdown. The Jets missed the extra point but closed the Castro Valley lead to just one.
However, those were the only points Encinal would get. The Jets defense forced three fumbles, but their offense was unable to capitalize.
Robert Taylor gave the Trojans a bigger lead late in the half on a 24-yard run. Castro Valley quarterback Luke Huerta got his only touchdown of the night, a 12-yard pass to Trevor Trammell, at the end of the third, and Nick Alfaro scored the final touchdown of the night on a 22-yard run early in the fourth.
