Casey Soltis and Kyle Campiotti each rushed for two touchdowns as the host Matadors (4-6, 1-5 EBAL) won the city championship over the rival Cowboys (2-8, 0-6).
Soltis and Campiotti, who gained many rushing yards out of the Wildcat formation, combined for 180 yards on the ground. Soltis, a junior, had a game-high 117 yards on the ground, and the senior Campiotti added 63.
An interception by Granada's Dominex Kovacs led to the first touchdown of the game, a 3-yard run by Soltis on the first play of the second quarter. Livermore narrowed Granada's lead to 7-3 nearly halfway through the second quarter on a 24-yard field goal by Ryan Galat, but an 18-yard touchdown run by Soltis with 4:58 left in the first half helped the Matadors take a 14-3 halftime lead.
The Matadors were helped by a Cowboys turnover in the third quarter, as a fumble recovery by Granada's Cristian Palomo on the Livermore 32 led to a 6-yard touchdown run by Campiotti. He reached the end zone again early in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard run, and Matt Richards scored the game's final touchdown on a 2-yard run. Richards had 67 yards rushing in the game.
Nick Sproutt had three catches for 60 yards for Livermore. Teammate Tim Harris grabbed an interception.
