St. Francis had five players score in double figures, led by Carolyn McGuire's 14 points, as the Lancers edged Presentation 64-63 in a West Catholic Athletic League girls basketball game Thursday night.

The No. 7-ranked Lancers (13-4, 4-2 WCAL) trailed by seven points after three quarters but held Presentation to just eight points in the fourth.

Courtney Danna led Presentation with 26 points. The Panthers fell to 8-9, 2-3.

Archbishop Mitty 54, Valley Christian 26: Jahnay Anderson and Kelli Hayes scored 12 points apiece as top-ranked Mitty (12-3, 5-0 WCAL) breezed past host Valley Christian (8-9, 0-5).

Sacred Heart Prep 57, Castilleja 55: Melissa Holland scored 23 points to help Sacred Heart Prep edge upset-minded Castilleja in a West Bay Athletic League Foothill Division girls basketball game Thursday.

Helen Gannon added 14 points and Meghan Holland had 11 points for the 11th-ranked Gators, who improved to 14-4, 2-2.

Ellie Chen scored 18 points for Castilleja, which dropped to 3-13, 0-4.

Branham 45, Pioneer 24: Taylor Morway and Regina Sankey each scored 16 points to lead host and 15th-ranked Branham (14-3, 4-3) in a Blossom Valley Athletic League Mount Hamilton Division game. Pioneer fell to 3-12, 1-6.

Piedmont Hills 55, Gunderson 33: Jayda Mosley scored 10 points to lead host Piedmont Hills (11-6, 3-4) to a victory over No. 14 Gunderson (12-4, 5-2), which failed to reach double figures in the first, third and fourth quarters of the BVAL Mount Hamilton Division game.

Andrew Hill 48, Lincoln 44: Senior guard Pay Silapasay had 16 points as Andrew Hill (7-10, 5-2) won the BVAL West Valley Division game. Alejandra Perez scored 14 points for Lincoln (6-9, 5-2).

Boys soccer

Mt. Pleasant scored three second-half goals en route to a 5-2 victory over Oak Grove in a BVAL Mount Hamilton Division game.

The victory improved Mt. Pleasant's record to 8-0-4, 5-0-1.

Branham 2, Prospect 0: Cole Elliott and Daniel Flores scored second-half goals as host Branham defeated Prospect in a BVAL Santa Teresa Division game.

Branham improved to 5-3-4, 3-1-2. Prospect slipped to 5-6-1, 3-3.

Silver Creek 4, Piedmont Hills 1: Oscar Alcala and Romel Sanchez each scored twice to propel host Silver Creek to a victory over Piedmont Hills in a BVAL West Valley Division game.

The Raiders (5-3-2, 3-1-2) scored three goals in the second half to pull away after the teams finished the first half tied 1-1.

Silver Creek also got contributions from goalkeeper Jonathan Curiel and defender Joel Martinez.

Girls soccer

Lindsay Karle, Chandler Wickers and Sienna Stritter scored to lead host Menlo School to a 3-0 victory over Castilleja in a WBAL Foothill Division game.

Emma LaPorte had two assists, and goalkeeper Schuyler Tilney-Volk recorded the shutout for Menlo (6-2-4, 4-0).
